How to Edit an Imported Audio Track in iMovie

This is a post to help people with a specific issue I couldn't find an answer to online.  I created my own hack in order to accomplish this.  In imovie '10 you can easily split voice over audio, but an imported audio track seems to be impossible to split and truly edit.

In order to get around this you need to:
  1. Create an imove file and import the green audio track with some kind of video
  2. Share>Export Movie> Pick and option and click "export"
  3. File>Import>Movies (and Import back the movie you just created)
  4. Place the movie into your iMovie file and select 'Detach Audio'
  5. Now the Audio is purple and you can edit it as you'd like!

I have a theory. I have a theory that people with the personality type of ENFP (Myers-Briggs Extroverted-Intuition-Feeling-Perceiving) are likely to be seen as people with ADHD. For some background, ADD is a sub-group of ADHD, so people with ADD have ADHD, although the people with ADD aren't hyper-active. US Airways On January 4th, I wrote an entry titled: US Airways- Short term vs Long term decisions , talking about how on a recent US Airways flight I had been charged for water on a 6 hour cross continental domestic flight. My stance was that it was a horrible move for the airline to demand money for water on a cramped flight where there was no readily accessible drinking water. Especially when customers had each paid good money for their flight, and had all of the time in the world to complain to each other during the time in the air. Well, it seems like US Airways have finally gotten the message and have changed their ways. They were hoping the other airlines would follow suite and also decide to charge for drinks, when they didn't, they alone were crouching in the corner in shame.
