How to Edit an Imported Audio Track in iMovie

This is a post to help people with a specific issue I couldn't find an answer to online.  I created my own hack in order to accomplish this.  In imovie '10 you can easily split voice over audio, but an imported audio track seems to be impossible to split and truly edit.

In order to get around this you need to:
  1. Create an imove file and import the green audio track with some kind of video
  2. Share>Export Movie> Pick and option and click "export"
  3. File>Import>Movies (and Import back the movie you just created)
  4. Place the movie into your iMovie file and select 'Detach Audio'
  5. Now the Audio is purple and you can edit it as you'd like!

I have a theory. I have a theory that people with the personality type of ENFP (Myers-Briggs Extroverted-Intuition-Feeling-Perceiving) are likely to be seen as people with ADHD.
